“Momager.” That might be a new term for you, but at Love, Me Photography, it’s frequently in use. Why? Because it’s the only single-word phrase I know of that seems to fully encompass the lifestyle of the majority of my clients.

Momager (mom-a-ger): Otherwise known as a mom-slash-manager, a Momager is a woman who pours her heart and her time into loving her family well. She invests in her children, finds things when they’re missing, dries tears when they’re falling, and claps her hands when there’s a reason for celebrating. A Momager is frequently found juggling a never-ending to-do list while going back and forth between soccer practice, Chick-fil-A, the grocery store, ballet lessons, three different committee meetings, school productions, and tutoring appointments (usually in an SUV, although not always). A Momager keeps track of college application deadlines, schedules senior portraits, and makes sure everyone is on time for church and school and work and SAT prep class. In short, a Momager does everything … and sometimes, although she’ll rarely admit it, she feels a little lost in the shuffle, a little afraid that her superpowers might run dry and a little unsure about how she’ll feel when the craziness finally turns to quiet.

If you relate to any part of the above definition, then I’d say you’re playing the role of Momager right now. You’re amazing! You’re incredible! You’re making things happen! But I’m betting that you’re also tired. And despite how things might appear, I’m thinking you don’t always feel like you have it all together. You might even wonder if anyone sees you for you anymore.

And so this love note is for you. For the busy ones who keep going because breaking down just isn’t an option. For the ones who want to treasure every moment but can’t make time stop for long enough to fully grasp them. For the ones who long to see their children’s dreams come to life, but still have dreams of their own as well. Please know that I see you. I care for you. I’m here for you. I believe in you.

I made the decision to focus my business on senior portraiture because I love teenagers. As crazy as it might sound to some (because hello, hormones), I believe that working with teens is a huge part of my personal calling—and reenergizing and encouraging their moms goes right along with that. Every rock-solid teen I photograph has a rock-solid support system behind them; a family that’s given them the tools they need to become a successful and secure adult. So in case you’ve forgotten (or you didn’t have the chance to fix your hair this morning and you’re just not feeling it), you matter. What you’re doing is so important. The investment you’re making into the lives of your children is one that will pay dividends for years to come. You’re an asset to your family and an inspiration to women with younger children—myself included.

Here’s just a small selection of the amazing Momagers I’ve worked with and been inspired by over the past 7 1/2 years … thank you for all that you do!
