Hi, I’m Crystal.

Taking senior portraits wasn’t always on my radar, but I’ve been working with teens for as long as I can remember. In college I was a backpacking guide for Wilderness Ranch, a Young Life camp based in Colorado. I even entertained the idea of studying to become a psychiatrist who worked with young adults … but O-Chem and Biology classes talked me out of following that particular career path. I soon realized I’d like to follow in my father’s entrepreneurial footsteps and go into business for myself. And after the birth of my first daughter, I finally figured out what form I wanted that business to take.

Like so many parents, when Mia Grace was born I wanted to capture every moment of her new life and quickly-developing personality. I couldn’t afford to hire the kind of photographer who would document our lives with the artistry (or frequency) I imagined, so I borrowed a camera from my parents and started teaching myself how to produce the kind of images I was looking for. Although my camera and equipment weren’t incredible, I wouldn’t trade those early days for anything. I relied on creativity to compensate for my lack of resources, became adept at capturing natural light, and abandoned poses and pretense in favor of photos that were—and continue to be—completely unique.

More than fifteen years later, that baby girl is almost a senior herself, and Love, Me Photography remains both my business and my calling. When a camera isn’t in my hand, you’ll most likely find me spending time with my husband and our three children, traveling, or coaching girls basketball at True Texas Hoops.

THE LOVE, ME difference

NO fake SMILES

If I called out, “Smile!” during your photo shoot, chances are that you’d give me something a little stiff and not-so-natural. Totally normal … but no worries. During our session, you’re free to do whatever makes you feel relaxed and at ease—from throwing a football to putting your hand on your hip to tipping a cowboy hat down over your eyes. It is okay if you aren’t comfortable or don’t “know what to do” Crystal’s approach is conversational and relaxed — she will give you as much direction as you need and help you be at ease so she can capture your honest expressions.

FREE to BE

A few things you should know about me: I’m patient, a good listener, flexible, and my only aim is to take the best pictures of you possible. Bottom line: Our entire team wants you to feel free to be you. Don’t like a location? Not feeling completely comfortable? Need to take a quick break to refresh your lip gloss? Say so!

PERFECTLY you

We have a pretty strong perfectionist side, especially when it comes to editing portraits. If shadows, glares, or I-can’t-believe-this-came-up-today skin problems are getting in the way of your natural beauty, We’ll refine the rough edges until The Real You shines through. The perfectionist thing applies to creating photo albums too. We’ll spend as much time as necessary to ensure that the layout of your pictures tells a story that’s classic, timeless, and sure to be treasured for years to come.

I cannot begin to tell you how amazing my experience was with Crystal. She is one of the most talented photographers I have ever met.
