Ok, y’all. When a client’s first words to me are, “I completely trust you,” that client automatically becomes my favorite! Meet Delaney! She was such a sweetheart and beyond comfortable in front of the camera. Add to the mix dream parents, including a dad who is totally into the ordering session, and my day, week, and month are all made! Because I’ll be completely honest…a lot of dads just aren’t into senior portraits at all. It really warmed my heart how vocal he was in his appreciation of Delaney’s images. And, as an artist, I welcomed her family’s feedback on my work; they just got it. They liked the traditional smiling headshots everyone loves, but also appreciated the candid styles where I experimented with the lighting.

Back to Delaney. I loved her simple and classic outfit choices. They fit the locations perfectly! She also brought new life to my bridge location. Because we started earlier in the day, I was able to capture so many amazing headshots due to the lighting and her beautiful expressions.

Families like the McDonalds reinforce my belief in all that is good in this world—it was so obvious by their interactions with one another that this is a seriously close family. #goals. Also, I know that people often have some not-so-positive things to say about “today’s youth” but, man, I disagree. If they could meet the young men and women that I work with every year, and Delaney is but one example, they would realize that our future is in good hands.

Thank you, McDonald family, for your support and encouragement!
