I don’t know what took me so long. I realized a while ago that I was never going to be the mom that carried my honkin’ camera around everywhere. It just wasn’t going to happen. Because of that, its truly sad the amount of simple snap shots I had over the last couple of years. I realized what meant the most to me were the everyday moments. I don’t want forget those moments … I know how fleeting the time is, and its these everyday images that will tell the story of our life when the girls grow up. Don’t get me wrong, I love beautiful portraits of my kids too. There’s a place for those, and they are all over my walls!
I started a personal project at the beginning of 2012 to just use my iphone to take snap shots and load to instagram (an app for your phone that has auto filters and your own personal photo feed). The plan was and is to create a simple album (that I do not have to design, just upload and order) from all the instagrams I take throughout the year at the end of 2012. There are tons of companies that are making it easy to create albums, magnets, posters, etc. out of your instagram pics. That’s what I needed … something simple and easy! What started as a fun personal project has turned into so much more. I am SO grateful to have these images, and loads of family and friends have loved following along via facebook, where they auto update. So, in case you’ve been hiding under a rock like I was, check out Instagram and this is a band wagon you dont want to miss!
