I think theater people are some of the very best clients to photograph and Katie is a prime example! She has such a charming and quirky personality and it just came through in every shot. Her wardrobe selections were amazing—she has an affinity for clothing from different eras which I find so fun—and we were able to capture different sides of her personality through her unique looks. And those gorgeous eyes of hers convey such a wide variety of expressions, which was awesome to photograph!
Interesting (and humbling for me) side note: Katie was supposed to fly in for our session but because of all the crazy Texas fall rain we experienced during the fall, we had to postpone as it wasn’t safe to land. So, she and her mom jumped in the car (dogs and all!) and drove all night to meet me at 8 a.m. in Decatur! It was still misty but we braved the weather and we got it done! It is such a complete honor for me when a client is willing to drive five hours to shoot with me. I left this session overwhelmed by this work I get to do and the wonderful people I’ve met along the way.
Not surprisingly, Katie is the younger sister of another thespian I had the joy of photographing for a senior session. Her brother Matthew was as much of a delight as she was—these siblings just might be the next big thing. Move over, Jaden and Willow Smith!
So grateful to you, Hopper family, for trusting me with not one but two of your charming and talented children!
