I appreciate music in almost every form, so getting to photograph an exceptionally talented musician in action was a thrill for me. According to his mom, Reed—a senior at Liberty Christian School who plays guitar in a worship band—has been playing for as long as she can remember…we’re talking toddler years here, y’all! And I’m here to tell you that all of the time and dedication he put in has definitely paid off. I had the opportunity to listen to him play Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg on the guitar, and he was incredible.

I love shooting an artist as they play because real and honest expressions occur on their face as their hands move across their instrument. Reed was no exception and I think we made some beautiful music together! (Had to get a little punny there.)

Not only is Reed extremely gifted but he is also just a super nice guy with an incredible smile! I had the honor of working with his sister Jessica prior to Reed’s session, and these siblings have the kindest souls—both take after their mom who is one of the most gracious women I’ve ever known. Their genuineness of spirit made for such a lovely, laid-back session and I’m so appreciative that they have looked to me to be a part of their family’s story!

Thank you, Taber family!
