Ashlin is such a sweet girl who is very passionate about Jesus and her faith. I had the amazing honor of taking Ashlin on the trail for a backpacking trip in Colorado during her senior year and really got to know her heart during that time. That expedition made 2016 an incredibly memorable year—without a doubt one of the best in my photography career. But back to Ashlin! She’s such a beautiful person full of life and joy, and The Styling Stewardess did a fantastic job of highlighting her natural beauty.

Ashlin ended up playing volleyball for Southwestern Assemblies of God University after high school, got engaged, and is now married! She was also a junior high volleyball coach for a period of time. In the summer of 2019, I reached out to Ashlin for help with Mia Grace (who tried out for middle school volleyball last year and made the A-team!). It’s been so much fun to reconnect and witness her work with my girl. MG just adores her, and it’s clear that Ashlin is a gifted coach. Being a coach myself, I love watching people who have the gift of teaching do their thing, and I’m convinced that age has nothing to do with it—either you have the gift, or you don’t.

Then, my little Ellie came home from second grade one day to let me know they have a new student teacher: Mrs. Thomas. 🙂 It’s so fun to see our paths cross in many ways, and I love that my girls have had such a wonderful role model like Ashlin in their lives, even for a short while.

It’s crazy seeing all my past seniors grow up—getting married and even having children. When I started this business, I guess I was just a baby myself! And now I’ve got a brand new baby boy at home. If you would have told me this would be my life back in 2016, there’s absolutely no way I would have believed you. Life really does come full circle in a million different ways.
