Getting to mix business with pleasure (have I mentioned how much I love what I do?!) has always been a huge perk of my work, but throw in getting to work with my own tribe and I am over the moon! Megan is my cousin’s daughter so I think that may make us first cousins once removed, but whatever the connection, she’s kin…and her senior portrait session ended up being such a fun family affair! Her mom, my mom, my aunt—we were all there together to watch her have her moment in the sun. Monica did Megan’s makeup and also did the styling for her session, and I got to do her hair. Just an all-around perfect “girls day!”
The lighting could not have been better for capturing this brunette beauty’s flawless skin and beautiful eyes! And the setting, a perfectly rustic property belonging to family friends, was so well-suited for her passion. Megan loves animals and is studying at Blinn College with the goal of becoming a vet, so being surrounded by cute farmyard critters was a natural environment for her!
I’m beyond proud of Megan for following her dreams. I know it’s not always easy to move away from all you’ve ever known, and that’s especially true when home is Small Town, USA. But she is one smart young lady and I believe she has what it takes to go far.
