Zach is a truly dedicated golfer. Since his freshman year, Zach has been on the varsity golf team at Allen High School and plans to continue his golf career through college. He also enjoys basketball and loves to watch the NBA playoffs as well as college basketball. Naturally, Zach wanted to incorporate his love of golf into his portrait session.
I loved learning that Zach’s dad coaches the women’s basketball team at Collin College. As a coach for True Texas Hoops, I obviously get excited anytime anyone has a connection to women’s basketball! My girls and I just returned from a few days in San Antonio to watch the State finals.
As with most senior boys, it’s important to incorporate hobbies or interests to help them relax and bring out natural expressions. This is especially important for guys that are not too thrilled with taking senior portraits. I loved that we used a golf course Zach frequents and worked around golfers on the course to get a few shots of him in his element. I was also a fan of the fact that Zach wore athletic gear for the session. I often tell clients to not be afraid to go really casual for sessions, especially if that truly reflects their personality. And, seeing the smile on his face, he clearly felt right at home…even with a camera in his face.
Speaking of home, we ended our session at Zach’s home with all of his fur babies. This guy loves his dogs, so getting a shot of man + man’s best friend(s) was a must.
Thank you, Kim for trusting me with portraits of Zach. I loved meeting you both!
